to develop any feelings for them.
History:
Tuesday was born the youngest of five children, in a typical
Irish-American family in Buffalo, New York. Her father was a city
cop, as were her uncles, grandfathers and it was only natural that
after college Tuesday ended up joining the force.
Growing up Tuesday had always somewhat of a tomboy, and in high
school came to realize that she was attracted to members of the same
sex. In her somewhat conservative Irish Catholic family Tuesday
waited as long as she could to come out. At the age of nineteen she
finally did. The news was met with mixed emotions by the members of
the Winters' family. With the relationship between her father and two
older siblings strained Tuesday moved into her place and working as a
waitress in a local bar supported herself through school.
It was these years that taught Tuesday just how strong of a person
she really was, and exposed her to the harsh reality of homophobia.
Determined to prove herself as capable as anyone Tuesday completed
college, graduating with honors and without the support of her
family. Against the protest of her father and eldest brother Tuesday
joined the police force.
To her surprise Tuesday actually met more acceptance among the young
members of the Buffalo City police department then she had originally
hoped for. There was of course resistance to an open lesbian being on
the force and she met it with the best face she could possibly could.
Taking a routine call, shortly after twenty-fifth birthday Tuesday
found herself the victim of a hate crime.
Set-up by her own partner Tuesday walked into a trap, where five
other officers men who were off duty and openly against the woman
in the midst severely beat and raped her. Shot once in the back she
was left to die in an alley, but was discovered by a homeless man who
phoned 911 from a payphone.
It took nearly a year for Tuesday to recover from her injuries. The
bullet nearly crippled her for life, leaving the young woman
paralyzed from the waist down for six months. Seven operations later
Tuesday was able to walk though it took extensive physical therapy
before she was in full health again.
Urged by her mother, Tuesday's father, Sean Winters, visited her in
the hospital. Slowly Sean came around and while Tuesday healed they
rebuilt their father/daughter relationship. Insisting that she come
home to finish therapy Sean became an opener supporter of Tuesday.
Touched by the change that occurred in her father, she attempted to
return to something of her old life but found that her trust had
been far to shattered.
Desperate to get away and rebuild her life Tuesday moved to the
southwest. She settled in New Mexico, Albuquerque where once again
she joined the local police force. Life fell into a comfortable
pattern of routine, Tuesday met another woman there with whom she
slowly developed a close relationship with. Rose was a nurse at a
local hospital, and shortly after meeting moved in with Tuesday. The
couple had decided that they wanted a child just a few months after
Tuesday's thirtieth birthday. With Rose unable to carry a child
Tuesday agreed willingly to be the one who would carry their child.
And less then two weeks before the outbreak Tuesday was successfully
impregnated.
She heard by phone that her father had died, and her mother less then
a week after that. Communication with the rest of the country was
severed and Tuesday never heard what the fate of the rest of her
family living back east was. Rose lasted until the final weeks of the
outbreak, but succumbed at last. Tuesday felt paralyzed by her loss,
she was alone and pregnant in a city of the dead.
