Personality: Shelia is quite kind and outgoing, very friendly. She enjoys being around people and tries her best not to let her disability hamper her life at all.

Any special skills?: Good with children and animals. Because she is blind her others senses have adapted and are more sensitive than most ‘normal’ people.

History, including occasion of first death if warranted.: Shelia was born in New York to John and Olivia Drake. She had an older sister named Lynn as well. Shelia was a normal happy child, enjoying playing sports and spending time outside. At the age of 10 her life changed drastically when it was found she had a degenerative eye condition and she lost her sight. For a few years Shelia underwent care for depression due to the loss of the use of her eyes and finally she overcame the mental blocks that had been set up and learned to live and be happy again. She went to high school and college, graduating with a degree in teaching (emphasis on children with disabilities such as she has) and a degree in English.

Shelia manages her blindness through various means… she is mobile with the aid of a seeing eye dog as well as a walking cane. She can read Braille and also had a special computer and phone set up in her home to help her do her work.

She had been living in the Midwest for a few years before the plague hit. Suddenly life has become a struggle again for her as now she is lost in a world of darkness with her dog, Boromir, her only companion. She knows that if she does not find others soon she will probably die, unable to find basic items for survival.
